LINEUP
The Talbott Brothers (Imperial – folk rock)
The Talbott Brothers are an Alternative Folk/Rock band based in Portland, Oregon. Nick and Tyler form an alternative sound that balances sibling-blood-harmonies with their instrumental ensemble of guitars, mandolin, harmonicas and percussion. Their entertaining effect on stage is embraced by multiple generations, as they are known for charming and energetic performances that blend singer-songwriter styles with folk, rock and pop.

Rothsteen (Omaha – soul/R&B)
Rothsteen is an R&B/Soul/Pop artist currently residing in Omaha, Nebraska and originally from Chicago, Illinois. He fronted the rock band Voodoo Method for many years to packed houses and accolades. In recent years Rothsteen heard himself doing a different sound and built his own studio to record the Moments Before and Moments During EP’s. He wrote and performed all of the music, beats and lyrics. These EP’s are full of honest and emotionally diverse songs. He was named the 2015 Best New Artist at The Omaha Entertainment And Arts Awards, performed with local and national acts, and performed a song with Both at the Maha Music Festival. In 2016 he performed at the Holland Arts Center’s 1200 Club, opened for Christopher The Conquered, performed at Junkstock, Sumter Amphitheater, The Hear Nebraska Good Living Tour, The Lincoln Funk and Soul Festival and was named best R&B and Soul Artist by the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards. Rothsteen will release his new EP (the last of his trilogy) Moments After in the Spring of 2017.

Universe Contest (Lincoln – indie rock)
“Lincoln’s Universe Contest is a spastic indie rock band that has been threatening to break out into a full-scale indie music phenomenon for the last year. The question is more when will it happen rather than if it will. The band perfects theatricality in their live sets, while still delivering melodic precision. Modest Mouse is the usual comparison thrown Universe Contest’s way but there’s elements of the last decade’s best, messy indie pop acts in here. If you’re already inclined to liking acts like Tapes N Tapes or the Dismemberment Plan, you’ll find lots to like in Universe Contest.” – Tim McMahan, Omaha Reader

**Hear Nebraska takes to the road, bringing local music to Greater Nebraska communities during its third-annual Good Living Tour, presented by Nebraska Department of Economic Development. Each concert, carefully curated by Hear Nebraska, featured a lineup of original, diverse Nebraska acts, with at least one band native to each town – representing an array of musical genres and styles – from indie rock to country to hip-hop to blues.

On the day of each concert, Hear Nebraska staff and performing artists will lead an educational workshop designed to give every community the tools and knowledge to increase the presence and support of original music in their community. These workshops will be responsive to each community’s desires and infrastructures, focusing on what what is possible and what will have the greatest impact.
