Cursive returns to The Waiting Room … so does Murs; Daedelus at Vega; Simon Joyner and Orenda Fink play Slowdown voting show

1% Productions announced a few new shows today, including Cursive, Murs x Mayday and Bahamas.

Cursive plays The Waiting Room on March 21. The tour follows Saddle Creek’s Nov. 24 reissue of their 2003 masterpiece, The Ugly Organ. Cursive will be playing from its extensive catalogue, but with a cellist on tour, will draw heavily from The Ugly Organ for setlists. Tickets go on sale Friday for $13.

The Ugly Organ’s reissue will include a double LP on 180-gram vinyl, liner notes with rare photos and original artwork, handwritten lyrics, lists of tour dates from the era and an introduction written by Kyle Ryan of The A.V. Club. Pre-order for the reissue is available here.

LP one of the release will include all of The Ugly Organ. LP two will include tracks written during the same sessions but released elsewhere, as on 8 Teeth to Eat You:

Murs x Mayday, a collaboration between California rapper Murs and Florida-based hip-hop group Mayday play at The Waiting Room on Nov. 10. Murs last played The Waiting Room in March 2013. Buy tickets here.

Canadian singer-songwriter Bahamas recently released his third album, Bahamas is Alfie, full of short, stripped-down pseudo-surf tracks. Bahamas plays Reverb Lounge on Jan. 24. Tickets go on sale Friday.

Electronic artist Daedelus plays at Vega tonight with Spazzkid and local musicians Spencelove, Dojorok and Darren Keen.

The Los Angeles producer and multi-instrumentalist has been releasing innovative electronic albums since 2002. He’s known for building his own equipment and working with Flying Lotus, internet radio station Dublab and other artists in the community.
