Two Songs by Two Bands | Love Drunk Videos

When Flashbulb Fires (Denver, Colo.) stayed with me for a weekend in 2010, we stumbled our way into what would soon become Love Drunk sessions.

In the spring of 2011, a few of my nerdiest and closest friends and I took Love Drunk on a 15-day tour of the eastern half of the country. We had originally planned on a seven-day trip, but the prospect of shooting Arrah and the Ferns in their hometown of Philadelphia made stretching out the tour a no-brainer.

I've been friends with and a fan of both of these bands for years. In late April, the stars aligned and I was able to introduce these wonderful people to each other. They were both on the road, meeting in Omaha from opposite directions.

During a barbecue on their last day here, Daniel Muller, Andrew Roger and I convinced the bands to collaborate on original songs together.

They first combined to perform "Dark Ghost (I've Got Arms)," from Flashbulb Fires' 2012 release, Gasconader. They then worked out "Tokyo, Tokyo," the final track on Arrah and the Ferns' 2006 record, Evan is a Vegan.

While impromptu and somewhat raw in the way this collaboration was captured, it was a special moment I'll treasure for many years to come.

My friends and I want to make it easier for people to stumble onto music they can connect with. If you feel the same way, please share some of our work with people you believe may appreciate it.
