As if having real monkeys jumping around your post-Edwardian living room isn't interesting enough, let's add an animated monkey named Toki. And just so things seem sufficiently abstract, let's make sure Toki appears through a black hole after he takes a psychedelic trip on the path of self-discovery.
Thunder Power's new video, "Spiraling Sky," makes sense musically, but the presentation will require some stretching of the imagination.
Wavelets of wobbly guitar strums and soft fingerpicking give way to a mellow, low-fi surfer sound, and the vocals without words grace the empty spaces of the song's arrangement. Thunder Power's debut album Volumes, will be out Dec. 11, 2012, via Slumber Party Records.
Now put on your thinking caps and join Toki in a musical journey.
