It was sometime during my junior year of college when I caught a rerun of "Boy Meets World" on television. If you're a child of the 90's, you know how important this show is, and you also know how rare you see it on television these days. It was some episode where the main character, Corey, and his wife, Topanga, are trying to find a better place to live after getting married and moving into a dump of a dorm. While talking to his best friend, Shawn, Corey says that he wants to buy this really nice house and how it would be so great for him and Topanga. Shawn later comments to his girlfriend, Angela, that he wants to have an apartment where they read the paper together while the sun comes in the window, drinking coffee together on a Saturday morning or something like that.
I liked the idea so much that I wrote a song about it, about laying on a living room floor on a Saturday with the one you love, about reading the paper and relaxing, not wasting the day away, but spending the entire day doing nothing, but having it be enough. And after writing it, I only have one thing to ask: Why isn't "Boy Meets World" on more often? Just kidding, but really, it gave me the inspiration to write one of the most fun songs that I've had the pleasure of making.
