The little band with a big sound just can’t slow down.
In April, the musical duo Karmin — made up of Seward native Amy Heidemann and her fiance, Nick Noonan — uploaded their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now” on YouTube.
The quirky cover was an overnight sensation, landing them millions of new fans and a performance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The video has since scored 20 million views.
And Karmin was just getting started.
A few weeks ago, out of nowhere, the NBA invited the duo to come in and brainstorm some music ideas for the Mavericks-Heat finals. Heidemann and Noonan took the invite and played one of their original songs, “Take It Away.” The reps loved it. So Karmin recorded a new studio version and now their song is the theme of the NBA Finals.
