Hear Nebraska Fundraiser: Take Cover (Omaha)

The second installment of the "Take Cover" concept, this event features Nebraska artists covering Nebraska artists — including bands with women, like All Young Girls Are Machine Guns covering Little Black Stereo and Heather Berney of the Betties covering Matt Cox, and men covering bands with women, like Eli Mardock covering the Prids. The Lincoln edition was awesome, and the Omaha edition looks to be equally so.

Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha
8:15 p.m.
$5

Desert Noises | Low Horse | *Sterofidelics | Once A Pawn

Indie pop-rock, male-female duo Stereofidelics comes through Nebraska every six months or so, it seems, and Once a Pawn is a Lincoln staple. Should be a solid, fun show.

Duffy's Tavern, 1415 O St. in Lincoln
9 p.m.
$5 for 21+, $7 for 18 to 20

Drive-By Truckers w/ *Those Darlins

OMG THOSE DARLINS. Love this band. Their show at the Zoo Bar earlier this summer was a rollicking ride, and like Depeche Mode, I just can't get enough. Aggressive, spunky, down-home country-punk-indie with a decidedly feminist flair.

Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. in Omaha
9 p.m.
$25

Hilary Stohs-Krause loves puns and cheesy wordplay, to the point of absurdity. She will often apologize for her jokes, but never for laughing at them. Hilary gets her local music fix through HN and as a cocktail waitress at Duffy's Tavern.
