Tom May from The Menzingers | Audio Interview

by Andrew Norman

Aside from the city, one rarely knows what to expect each night on tour. The Menzingers' guitarist and vocalist Tom May hoped to have wi-fi so we could do a video interview via Skype on Monday night. But it wasn't in the cards. Plopped down on a lawn chair near the band's trailor, smoking a cigarette after a set at the all-ages Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, Utah, May talked to Hear Nebraska on the phone about the "Gurewitz card" that comes from signing to punk rock's biggest label, avoiding car sickness and clunker shows, Desaparecidos, and his favorite all-time chorus (hint: Joe Strummer's involved.)

Catch Philly's The Menzingers Wednesday, June 15 at The Waiting Room Lounge with Title Fight (Kingston, Penn.) and Touché Amoré (Los Angeles). The 6:30 p.m. show costs $10 ADV, $12 DOS.
