Matthew Masin’s HN Experience | Intern Review

testimonial, photos and video by Matthew Masin

An internship with Hear Nebraska is different from any other internship, in a very good way. Interning at HN welcomes you into a family, and almost instantly you’ll feel welcome and supported in the work you create. HN provides an internship that embraces creativity, encourages you to try something new, and helps you learn by your taking the risk of doing something new.

Interning at HN put me into journalistic situations that a college education alone doesn’t offer. Dealing with the larger acts and their booking companies and getting your own access into assignments is something you need to learn, and HN teaches you how.

The family at HN is something you’ll be glad you decided to join. You’ll always have someone to count on when you need work critiqued, a reference on a resume, or when you just need a friend to play guitar with in the park. I know I’m thankful for my time interning at HN. It opened up a lot of confidence in myself and my work and pushed me to try to do more.
