The Matador CD Release | Photo Essay

by Shannon Claire

The Matador is a five-piece aggressive hard rock metal band from Omaha formed in 2007. They dropped their new EP, Once Upon a Sinking Ship, recorded at Make Believe Studios, Friday, Sept. 30 at the Waiting Room Lounge. The End In Red, The Machete Archive, Cannonista and The Evil That Men Do opened the show.

Playing songs like their newest "A Skull Fight for Dumpster Juice," to fan favorite "2 Girls, 2 Cups", they provided this appropriate disclaimer: "If you get offended easily, piss off." By the third song, the pit was in full circle, with fans screaming lyrics and stage diving with fists proudly in air. Their new album was free for the paying crowd. You can purchase their other albums via iTunes and can pick up their new EP at their upcoming shows: Friday, Oct. 7 at Stir Cove; and Oct. 29 at The Hideout.
