This newest video from Capgun Coup wasn't made just for family. With the red titles jittering over a shot that needs a bit of tracking adjustment, though, "Laugh Cry" looks like it was born as a VHS tape as soon as it starts.
Harrison Martin shot and edited the video, peeking through pieces of the playground, rolling through the gym as Capgun Coup's young stand-ins play over the insistent high-hat and bass drum and sing along with the falsetto la la la that precedes a freakout to end. The video, too, begins to shake more and peel away from itself as the crunchy guitars march on.
"Laugh Cry" follows the "Q&A" and "My Boredom is Bored" videos from the Omaha band's latest album Contextual Doom. Read a review of the album here, and find it on iTunes.
