They've gone under a few names, in various projects and via a handful of nicknames, from Brent Walstrom and Adam Robert Haug to Conchance and Haunted Gauntlet. The first name they both shared, though, was Frank: Hotel Frank.
As roommates, these two-thirds of M34N STR33T first collaborated on a late-night recording session of the track “Hey Days” off a Baby Shanks tape. A few years and changes of address later, the two friends along with DJ Really Real release their latest track, "KIDS B34T," today.
It's a minor melody of cut-up classical guitar and descending choir notes that plays under Conchance's chorus of off-beat accents. The Omaha rapper's flow is less a straight shot down the mountain and more a quick-direction-changing slalom. And while the art that supports this single begs you to stare, the track is worth a number of listens to take in all the words darting around over a solid instrumental.
"KIDS B34T" follows M34N STR33T's video of "SH3-L4," and previews the group's forthcoming album, Mutants of Omaha.
