On Approach is a folk-rock band from Lincoln, Nebraska comprised of band members Ory Wickizer on fiddle, Jim Rhian on guitar, Sam Costello on banjo, Robert Specht on cello, Jeremy Buethe on upright bass, and Will Roper on drums. Their inspirations include bands such as the Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Mumford & Sons. Ory and Jim began playing together in the cold harsh winter of 2009 and formed the band proper in August of 2010. In October, Sam joined on the banjo, and Will joined on drums in 2011. Robert and Jeremy replaced the former cellist and bassist in winter of 2011. A fun, energetic and emotional band that has deep roots in bluegrass and folk with more contemporary rock sensibilities, On Approach is one raucous ride.
