Cerebral Ballzy to play Vega, new video project for PCS

Announced this morning, the Brooklyn-based punk band Cerebral Ballzy will play Vega on Sept. 18. Tickets go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. and will be available here. Their second album Jaded & Faded comes out tomorrow (June 17) on Cult Records.


Andy Boonstra, the producer and beatmaker for Omaha hip-hop group Purveyors of the Conscious Sound, is working on a new video mini-series called Pick, Flip n’ Spit!. Boonstra says the series will focus on “local producers and lyricists.” The first episode is on YouTube now, and features Boonstra along with PCS bandmate Jake Dawson on a record shopping trip to Kanesville Kollectibles and subsequently working on beats and lyrics. This weekend marks the third annual Junkstock event, the three-day West Omaha rummage and craft sale.
