The Bishops are a few guys from Omaha that fell in love with Jamaican ska and rocksteady music. By combining horns and steady polyrhythm patterns, the Bishops bring vintage sounds from the islands back to life with both original and well-known tunes. Mike Bechtel, Ira Hughey and Scott ‘Spiny’ Norman get the dance floor moving with bright horn patterns, while John ‘Green Machine’ Green, ‘Dirty’ Dan Vaughn and Dan Burger add layers of ska riddims to complete the sound. Mike, John and Ira fold-in vocal harmonies to original and traditional songs in a soulful, island style.
