Biography

Punching Puppets are a rock covers and originals band from the Omaha area. Guitar player Gage Clark and vocalist Morgan Giesick started their lifelong friendship in 2002 at the age of 4 at preschool in Fremont, Nebraska. At the age of 10, they decided to take up an instrument with Gage playing the guitar and Morgan learning the bass. In 2011, while students at the School of Rock Omaha, they met drummer Alex Holliger and Fellow guitarist Michael Minckler and started Punching Puppets as a 4-piece band in 2011. Due to artistic differences the band became a three-piece band in early 2012. In the winter of 2012, the band began playing open-mic nights in Omaha. As word of their talent began to spread, gigs began to roll in.
Throughout 2013, the band played several solo gigs and have also opened for many of Omaha's and Lincoln's cover bands such as Shoot to Thrill, John Doe, Bad Apple, Magic K, Lemon Fresh Day, Paisty Jenny, Randall Zwarte, and Cheshire Grin.
In the summer of 2013, the Puppets met Jenny Fisher through BluesEd Omaha and, in August, added her as their bassist bringing the band to its current line-up. The addition allowed Morgan to get out from behind his bass to lead the band and also play some rhythm guitar.
The band continues to add to their covers list and are in the process of writing more original songs as well.
