Chris Van Dyke

Born and raised in rural Nebraska, Chris was constantly surrounded by music from a very early age. His mother played guitar and sang for church every Sunday and was also his music teacher from kindergarten through his senior year of high school. Having inherited the talents of a very musical family, Chris attended Chadron State College as a Commercial Music Business major.

During his time in Chadron, he was a founding member of the regionally popular band, Police Beat. The band made a name for themselves, playing in the Nebraska panhandle and parts of South Dakota. Mainly a cover band, they were known for their tight harmonies and unique ways of covering a song. And in 2007 they got a gig at Nebraska’s most popular music festival, Comstock Rock. Police Beat has since then disbanded.

Tired of cover songs and the bar band scene, Chris has been playing solo shows for about a year now and the response has been nothing but positive. In May 2009, he self-released his first album, a 12 song musical diary titled “Eudaimonia”.
